Band Heaters

Hotco band heaters are commonly used in the plastics industry on barrels and nozzles of plastics injection moulders, extrusion machines, heat treating of piping, and on other process equipment requiring uniform heat and high temperatures.

A wide array of industrial strength band heaters are available including tubular, mica insulated along with both welded and flexible ceramic.

Hotco Tubular Band Heaters are heavy duty band heaters providing greater life, high temperature capabilities and performance enabling them to operate under extreme conditions. It has been found to be most resistant to damage from plasticised materials, mechanical abuse which, along with lack of adequate clamping, has proved to be the greatest cause of premature failures in conventional heaters.

Hotco Flexible Band Heaters are designed to enable both installation and removal of the heater, without disturbing or having to remove other heaters or fittings.

Our Welded Band Heaters are designed for applications where flexible band heaters are not suitable, usually to eliminate the ingress of liquids or materials from contaminating the inner windings of the heater.

The Hotco range of Flexible Ceramic Band Heaters are designed for applications where temperatures to 450°C are required, or where watts densities to 60 kW/m2 are needed. Manufactured using individual ceramic links, allows the heater to be opened out over the barrel, without disturbing or having to previously remove other heaters. A stainless steel outer clamp band with swivel toggles provides adequate clamping, and a range of electrical terminations are available
